GENERAL INFORMATION

The Bethel University Office of Sports Information is responsible for providing accurate and timely information to a variety of customers, including media, student-athletes, coaches, and fans. Bethel University Sports Information reports on and publicizes all 25 intercollegiate sports in addition to upholding and improving the image of the Athletics Department. The Bethel University Office of Sports Information writes the content for BU's Athletic website, BUPilots.com, arranges all interviews with student-athletes and coaches, compiles and archives statistics, writes game stories, and produces publications for all sports.

INTERVIEW REQUESTS

Post-game interviews may also be requested. Media should not enter the locker rooms as they are off-limits except to members of the respective teams. The student-athlete will be granted 10-15 minutes in the locker room following the contest, and the interview shall then be completed on the playing surface or outside the locker room entrance.

When a media member wishes to have a face-to-face interview with a student-athlete, it may be done on the Bethel University athletic facilities premises, either in the coach's office or a conference room. If a member of the media would like to interview a student-athlete over the phone, please leave the Office of Sports Information a phone number and the best times to be reached for the student-athlete to contact you. No information will be given to media members concerning contact information on student-athletes. All interviews with Bethel University players or coaches can be made through the Office of Sports Information.

MEDIA REQUESTS

The Bethel Sports Information staff provides notes and full box scores for all sports upon request. The latest information on Bethel Athletics is updated daily on BUPilots.com. To set up player or coach interviews or to be included on the Sports Information press release email list, please contact Luke Schrock, the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.

 

CREDENTIAL REQUESTS

All requests for media credentials must be made through Luke Schrock, the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. Requests must be made 24 hours prior to the game in which you want to attend. All requests will be considered on an individual basis and are not guaranteed to be approved. Once notified of approval, credentials may be picked up in person in the Office of Sports Information in the Wiekamp Athletic Center or at the ticket counter on the day of the game.
