MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- In the Bethel Pilots' (3-3, 0-1) home and WHAC opener with the No. 7 Marian Knights, the Pilots fell 15-5 after keeping pace in the first half at Morey Field on Wednesday.

The Knights struck first with a goal at 8:24 in the opening quarter, with Addi Jones tying the game off an unassisted goal at 7:50 1-1.

Marian regained the lead at 2:08, but Jones tied the game off the pass from Callie Brondyke at 1:31 MU ended the quarter with a man-up goal 3-2.

The second began with a Pilot goal from Megan Williams at 14:47, then tied again at 8:52 by Serenity Kretschmer to answer a Knight goal 4-4.

Marian began to pull away with four unanswered goals into halftime for a 7-4 Knight lead.

MU scored two quick goals at 14:29 and 12:19 in the third to grow the lead to 9-4, then Williams scored an unassisted goal at 8:47, 9-5 Marian.

Marian scored three more unanswered goals in the third and added three more in the fourth to give Morey Field a 15-5 win.

The Pilots face the Aquinas Saints in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Saturday, March 22, at noon.
