MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — The Bethel Pilots Men's Tennis team (5-3, 4-3) delivered a commanding performance against the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars (0-6, 0-6) on Tuesday, sweeping the match after relocating to the Aspen Racquet Club due to weather conditions.
The Pilots secured the doubles point with impressive victories across all three matches. Victor Bonsergent and Victor Otin dominated Andrew Hare and Matt Easter, winning 6-0 in the first doubles match. In the second doubles, Santiago Flores and Nicolo Marchetti triumphed over Noah Hill and Zane Menzie with a score of 6-1. Garrison Miller and Bernat Coll rounded out the doubles success, defeating Blake Boyer and Lucas Gray 6-1.
In singles play, the Pilots continued their dominance. Bonsergent showcased his skills with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory against Hare in the first singles match. Flores mirrored this performance, defeating Easter 6-0, 6-0 in the second singles. Marchetti followed suit, overpowering Menzie 6-0, 6-0 in the third singles. Otin, Gregori, and Orradre each secured their matches with identical scores of 6-0, 6-0, defeating Hill, Almovodar, and Gray, respectively.
With this victory, the Pilots look to conclude their Crossroads League season on a high note as they prepare to face the NAIA 24th ranked Marian Knights at home. The match is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at Ward Baker Park.
