FORT WAYNE, Ind. --- The Pilots played two opponents within a few hours of each other with the first match at 1 p.m. being the reschedule of the Saint Francis Cougars match originally scheduled for Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Ind., then traveled to Kokomo, Ind. to face the IU Kokomo Cougars at 6:30 p.m. and swept both matches.
VS UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IND.)
The Pilots won the doubles point from
Sandy Sharaf and Kenzy Abdelaal taking one doubles over Lauren Korte and Ellen Reidy 6-2 and
Ariadne Kokoula and
Farida El Sayed winning two doubles over Tori Rodenbeck and Emma Dellinger 6-0;
Alexia Pena and
Carla Montarulli had no opponent for three doubles.
Ariadne Kokoula defeated Ellen Reidy 6-0, 6-1 in one singles,
Kaavya Palani won over Lauren Korte 6-0, 6-1in two singles, Kenzy Abdelaal defeated Tori Rodenbeck 6-0, 6-1 in three singles,
Sandy Sharaf took four singles over Emma Dellinger 6-0, 6-0. The Pilots swept the Cougars 5-0.
VS IU KOKOMO
The Pilots swept the Cougars 7-0 after the bus ride from Fort Wayne and took charge.
Alexia Pena and
Kaavya Palani took one doubles over Chloe Schmidt and Ava Allen with a 6-2 final,
Sandy Sharaf and
Kenzie Abdelaal won over Mia Federspill and Kennedy Perrin in two doubles 6-0 and
Saige Rinkenberger and Carla Montaruli swept three doubles 6-0 to cap off the doubles point.
Kenzie Abdelaal only lost one game in her one singles win over Ava Allen 6-0, 6-1,
Sandy Sharaf swept two singles 6-0, 6-0 over Chloe Schmidt,
Farida El Sayed defeated Mia Federspill in three singles 6-0, 6-1, four singles went to
Alexia Pena over Kennedy Perrin 6-1, 6-0, Carla Montaruli won five singles over Breanna Koester 6-1, 6-0 and
Saige Rinkenberger won six singles over Graciella Solis 6-0, 6-0 to secure the sweep.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Spring Arbor Cougars are next up for the Pilots before entering the ITA Midwest Regional. The Pilots face the Cougars on Saturday, Sept. 14 with first serve at Ward Baker Park scheduled for 1 p.m. The Cougars are 2-3, 1-3 with their last match being swept by the 19th-ranked Marian Knights at home.
