Baseball splits with Spring Arbor in games one and two of the series

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. --- Frank Plesac earned his fifth win of the season against the Spring Arbor Cougars (19-23, 13-17) in a 3-2 pitcher duel in the Bethel Pilots' (11-29, 6-24) split on Friday evening with a delayed start due to the Cougar's field dedication ceremony.

GAME 1

Corbin Greenslade and Jordan Landkrohn had multi-hit games with two hits each, and Landkrohn scored two of the three Pilot runs with one in the second from an RBI single to center field and an RBI double to center in the top of the ninth. Ta'Shaun Coleman was the only Pilot with an RBI back in the top of the second with a sacrifice fly to right to send Jacob Sitterly home for the Pilots' first run.

Frank Plesac pitched a complete game, allowing only two runs and six hits and striking out four in his fifth win of the season.

GAME 2

Spring Arbor scored early and often, scoring five runs on three singles in the first two innings, four of the seven runs. The fifth run came from a fielder's choice in back-to-back at-bats to jump to an early 5-0 lead.

The Cougars plated two more runs in the bottom of the sixth from a two-RBI double that ended the inning from a relay from right field to get the out at third base.

NEXT TIME OUT

Bethel Baseball continues its series with the Spring Arbor Cougars on Saturday, April 20, at 1 p.m. in Spring Arbor, Mich., for games three and four.
