SOUTHFIELD, Mich. --- The Bethel Pilots (9-15, 4-13) lost to Lawrence Tech (11-14, 8-9) 3-0 Friday night.
Bethel started strong with a 3-2 lead in the first set, but Lawrence Tech quickly found their rhythm, taking a 13-7 lead. Despite kills from Afonso Matias and Marcos Henrike, the Pilots couldn't maintain their lead and fell 25-17 in the first set.
Lawrence Tech controlled the second set, while Bethel struggled to gain points against the opposition. Kills from Arthur Barreto and Andre Parra weren't enough in set two, as they fell 25-13.
Like the second set, Bethel couldn't find their grove and fell 25-10 in the match's final set.
Afonso Matias led with five kills for the Pilots.
Jack Hughes had seven assists, and Erik Malek earned six.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will stay in Michigan and take on Siena Heights University on Saturday, April 13, at 7 p.m. for their final regular season match.
