NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The fourth tournament win out of five came after the Bethel Pilots won the Saints Classic, hosted by the Holy Cross Saints, by a massive 36 strokes over the IU Kokomo Cougars, with
Jonah Kumfer setting a new 18-hole school record with a 66 in the second round on Tuesday.
Kumfer shot a 72 in the first round on Monday and ended the round one stroke behind the leader Ricardo Serpa of Trinity Christian, who shot a 71, then finished the tournament with the school record 66 and the best score of any participant in any round of the Saints Classic.
Earl Williams was in a five-way tie in the first round Monday with a 76 amongst the top-10 in the standings before securing third place under Luke Martin of Olivet Nazarene with Tuesday's score of 73.
Aaron Pasqualone tied for eighth place with Serpa and Oliver Gearlds with an 80 in the first round, then improving to 74 Tuesday.
Jimmy Bunner improved from the first round 84, then shot a 72 to tie Jack Rimington for 12th at +15, and
Nicolas Sabogal tied for 21st with Holy Cross' Sebastian Deimel with a 75-86.
The Pilots won four of the five tournaments this season with one runner-up finish as preparations for the NCCAA National Championship begin at Palm Coast, Fla., Oct. 21-23 at the Hammock Beach Resort Conservatory Course.
