MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (7-8, 4-5) ended the regular season strong against the Lourdes Graywolves (15-17, 11-8) by a score of 18-16 at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday.
The Pilots got on the board early with Alyssa Lundy's unassisted goal at 12:55, followed by Isabell Gerbrand's goal at 12:18 to take the 2-0 lead.
Gerbrand scored three goals, Lundy scored two of her own in the first quarter, and the Graywolves answered with three going in the second quarter, which was a shootout.
Lourdes went on a 5-0 run in the second quarter to take an 8-5 lead, but Lundy broke the scoreless streak at 5:24 left to go in the half, then Gerbrand followed suit seconds later to get within one point, 8-7.
Anna Hartman tied the game shortly after at 4:29, then Erika Marquez gave the Pilots the lead of 9-8 at 3:42.
After going back and forth in the last minute, the Knights tied the game 10-10 at half-time.
The third quarter had four lead changes, with Callie Brondyke tying the game at 10:04 11-11, and Gerbrand gave the Pilots a 12-11 lead at 9:38.
Gerbrand re-tied the game at 13 a piece off an assist by Jenna Crockett at 3:58 left in the third quarter.
Kayla Tirado joined the party and scored a goal assisted by Lundy to tie the game at 14 that would last through the rest of the third quarter.
The tenth lead change came at 10:40 in the fourth quarter to give the Pilots the 15-14 lead, and she put another in the net at 9:09. Jenna Crocket gave the Pilots their 17th point at 8:19, and Lundy scored the 18th point with 2:26 left in regulation, which the Knights answered at 2:00 and would stay to give the Pilots the 18-16 victory.

- Gerbrand and Lundy combined for 13 of the 18 goals scored for Bethel.

The Pilots await their seeding in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament set for Apr. 18, 20, and 22, with the higher seeds hosting each game.
