Mishawaka, Ind. --- Bethel University Women's Basketball improved their season record to 2-1 with a 63-56 victory over Governors State Tuesday night in Gates Gymnasium.
It was a low scoring affair in the first half with the visitors taking a 23-22 lead into the intermission, but the Pilots jumped out to a nine-point lead at the end of the third quarter, outscoring the Jaguars 23-14 in the stanza.
Bethel had balanced scoring, led by
Nyla Asad's 15 points, to go along with 8 rebounds.
Ella Foster added 12 points, while
Katie Kinker contributed 10 points.
Abby Williams collected an impressive double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
While the Pilots only managed to knock down one trifecta, they outscored Governors State by nine points from the charity stripe. Both teams struggled to take care of the basketball, with each turning it over 22 times.
